Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy for MOVING SPEAKER
Last Updated: 7. September 2024
1. Introduction
As a freelancer providing services through online platforms, I am committed to complying with all applicable regulations related to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF). In line with Stripe’s KYC obligations, I collect and maintain information on all my clients to verify their identity and ensure secure payment transactions.
This Know Your Customer (KYC) policy outlines the steps taken to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations while safeguarding my clients' information.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this KYC policy is to:
Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including AML and CTF laws.
Minimize the risk of fraudulent transactions and financial crimes.
Protect the integrity of my payment processing system by using Stripe's secure platform.
3. Customer Identification and Verification Process
To comply with Stripe's KYC requirements, I follow a thorough process to verify the identity of all clients:
Information Collection: For every new client, I collect the following information:
Full legal name
Email address
Billing address
Contact number
Payment details (via Stripe’s secure payment gateway)
Verification: Stripe's platform automatically verifies client information using its built-in KYC tools. If additional verification is required, I may request further documentation, such as:
A government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card)
Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, or similar documents)
Ongoing Monitoring: I regularly review client transactions to detect any unusual or suspicious activity. In case of any concerns, I follow the procedures laid out by Stripe to flag and report such activities.
4. Data Retention and Privacy
All collected data is securely stored in compliance with GDPR and other relevant privacy laws. Personal information is encrypted and kept confidential.
Customer data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill legal and contractual obligations. Once the retention period expires, the information is securely deleted or anonymized.
I do not share customer information with third parties, except as required by law or with the explicit consent of the customer.
5. Compliance with Stripe's Requirements
As a freelancer using Stripe, I ensure that all transactions are processed through Stripe’s secure gateway, which complies with PCI-DSS standards.
I keep updated with Stripe's policies and procedures to maintain compliance with all KYC, AML, and CTF obligations.
6. Risk Assessment and Management
I conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities related to client onboarding and payment processing.
I maintain procedures to mitigate any identified risks, including additional checks for high-risk clients or transactions.
7. Client Awareness
Clients are informed about this KYC policy during the onboarding process and are required to provide accurate information and documents for verification purposes.
8. Contact Information
For any questions or concerns about this KYC policy or how client information is handled, please contact me at hello@moving-speaker.com
9. Policy Updates
This KYC policy is reviewed regularly and may be updated to reflect changes in regulatory requirements or business practices. Clients will be notified of any significant changes.
By engaging my services and processing payments through Stripe, clients acknowledge and agree to comply with this KYC policy.
